Ohio. I have never loved living here.

Why? I hate the cold and it gets pretty cold here, 50% of the year at minimum. Love trudging through 2 feet of snow, scraping ice off of your car, and having frozen eyelashes? Then this is the state for you! I dread the cold months even more knowing that my toddler is going to be as stir-crazy as me.

We’ll still play outside, most certainly. This is my toddler’s first year as a tiny walking, playing outside human. Last year he was still super little in the winter and stayed inside. But now, he’s going to want to play in the snow. I spent some time researching outerwear for him and here are the options I ended up selecting (and loving):

614azyrukpl-_uy695_Boots: Kamik – I love Kamik. They are a great, sturdy, high-quality brand. While they aren’t the cheapest brand on the market, they are so worth the money. The Kamik boots that we bought are true to size, easy to put on/take off, insulated well, and they also have extra material to prevent snow/moisture from getting inside. They come in all kinds of colors, but we selected the basic black boot, which ran around $30.

Snow Suit: London Fog (Heavyweight Two Piece) – London Fog is a top-rated brand, as well. I did some digging before finally settling on this brand, but I’m glad that I did. The snowsuit is t81ddxtnixgl-_uy500_op notch. I chose the two piece because it’s likely there will be days we just want to use the heavy weight coat. The suit is thick and well-insulated, and ensures that your child will stay warm and dry. They put significant thought into the design of this jacket, making sure that arm bands cinch closed around the wrists and ankles. Price: Around $40, which is really a very good price for the set. Most jackets alone will run you $50+. Better yet? The whole suite is machine washable.

Have fun playing, and keep those little ones warm!
