I received the biG kiD best hair day set, biG kiD buBble bAth, and their biG kiD buG rePellEnt. My kids love bathtime and I couldn’t have been more excited. Bath time isn’t just washing up for us. It’s time to wind down, wash off the stress of the day, learn, play, and relax to get ready for bed.

We loved all three of these products! They are top of the line for a reason.

biG kiD best hair day set – This set is great for children and babies alike. I felt comfortable using it on my almost 3 year old and my 1 year old.

The shampoo was extremely gentle and didn’t create too many suds. It didn’t leave their hair dry or oily. My kids have very curly hair, so protecting their natural oils is extremely important. The scent for both products in the set is a very gentle citrus.

The conditioner has a pump that comes with it to make it easier to use. This conditioner was perfect for my son who has curly hair, but it is still pretty fine. With my daughter, who has very thick curls, I felt like I couldn’t get enough conditioner on her head to get the same result. In my opinion, it probably doesn’t have the correct formula of oils to saturate coarse hair. Her hair is a lot of work and I don’t hold it against a brand if the product doesn’t work. Finding the perfect products for her are still a work in progress and we have been using products for adult natural hair. If any of our readers have suggestions, feel free to comment! My son’s hair looks like a little doll’s though. Silky and perfect little curls forming without any work and detangling on my part! It is great! I am so thankful to have found something that tames his little flyaways and baby hair.

The set will run you about $40 for two 8 oz bottles. Amazon usually has it a few dollars cheaper.41SytRcZFVL.jpg

buBble bAth – My kids both adore bubble baths. It just makes bath time so much more fun! When else are you allowed to cover your sibling from head to toe in something and not get into trouble for it? There is barely any scent and it’s a light fresh “baby” scent. You do have to suds up the water yourself to create the bubbles, because there are no chemicals or additives to do it for you. I did like that they bubbles lasted the entire time the kids were in the tub, unlike some other organic bubble baths I have tried that go flat within a minute or so. An 8oz bottle runs around $17.

biG KiD buG rePellEnt – I was extremely excited about this. At the end of summer and beginning of fall, the kids tend to roll around in leaves and we stay out later for bon fires, so you need something to keep bugs away! Even though we need to protect ourselves from bugs bites, I hate all the chemicals that are in most sprays, deet especially! You can read more here. Like all of their products, it’s all natural. Instead of using harsh chemicals, it is made with eucalyptus and lemongrass essential oils. You kind of end up smelling like a citronella candle, but it’s fresh and my husband and I even used it on ourselves!  A 4oz bottle is $16.95.31og7xuthll-_sl300_

The biggest downfall with these products is the price. The brand is high quality, but not much higher than others that I have found in stores in my area. You can only find these online and they’re not in everyone’s budget. Even though they are pricey, I will definitely be purchasing the bug repellent again!

Wash with Water is based out of South Carolina. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates and new products!

Pic’s (Really Good) Peanut Butter {Review}

Pics-Seriously-Good-Peanut-Butter-300x172I don’t know about the rest of the moms and dads out there, but my household would not survive without peanut butter. I love it, my husband loves it and now my kids love it. We can eat it on pretty much anything! When Burrito Buzz got the chance to sample some peanut butter, I was all about it! I will admit, my family and I prefer JIF and Ppb6eter Pan, but we remained open-minded to Pic’s Peanut Butter, which is gourmet and all natural.

Pic’s (Really Good) Peanut Butter is simply made in New Zealand from only peanuts and less than 1% of salt. It can’t get much better than that! The company uses hi-oleic peanuts from Australia to make the peanut butter. The hi-oleic peanuts are GMO free and according to Pic’s “are resistant to staleness” and “keep their fresh roasted flavor and crunchiness long after ordinary peanuts go tasteless and mushy.” I can attest that even after having it for several weeks, the crunchy is still crunchy! Like the company states on their website, the crunchy version of their peanut butter is not a typical crunchy with big pieces of peanuts. Pic’s crunchy peanut butter is filled with tons of peanut pieces of varying sizes, making it even crunchier!

Although my family and I ate the peanut butter without major complaints, I’m still not 100% sold on Pic’s Peanut Butter. I just don’t think it can replace our not-so-natural peanut butters (JIF especially) in our home. We did give a fair shot and I plan to continue to give it to my kiddos because it is better for them, but I can’t say I would buy it on my own. If you’re a fan of “all natural” nut butters, this one is probably for you!

Pic’s also features several other nut products on their website (Peanut Slugs, Peanut Oil, Almond Butter and Cashew Butter). Visit their website to purchase your own Pic’s peanut butter or find out how the company got started and why they who they are! I really enjoyed reading about them

Amazon (Burrito Buzz moms love our Amazon) also sells Pic’s Peanut Butter. You can purchase Pic’s Crunchy Peanut Butter, Pic’s Smooth Peanut Butter or a variety pack with both!

Seventh Generation Natural Laundry Detergent {Review}

When you have kids, you want to find the best possible products to use on and around them. You don’t want unnecessary chemicals and synthetic materials to be used around your precious little ones, whether it’s cleaning supplies, skin care products or something as simple as laundry detergent. I never really put much thought into the type of 41d4UiaXwwL._AC_UL320_SR198,320_detergent I was using until I was given a few samples of Seventh Generation Natural Laundry Detergent right before my youngest was born. It made me rethink (and ultimately switch laundry soaps) what I was using to wash our clothes with.

Seventh Generation’s laundry detergent is awesome. It allows me to wash all of our clothes together, including my infant and toddler’s clothing. Because it is so gentle, I feel really good about washing my baby’s clothing in a detergent that gets her clothing clean and keeps her clothes free of harmful chemicals. Seventh Generation laundry detergent comes in several different types of soap (in liquid or powder form), including a new detergent specifically meant for baby’s delicate skin (which I love a million times more than Dreft, as I cannot stomach it’s strong fragrance). It cleans in all water temperatures and it has enzymes that lift stubborn stains, which we all know are inevitable with babies and kids (and adults, too).

IT’S NATURAL!Seventh-Generation-logo

  • Designed for Standard and HE machines
  • Free of dyes & synthetic fragrances
  • USDA Certified Biobased 97%
  • Supports sustainable palm oil
  • Works in all temperatures
  • 2x concentrated formula
  • Hypoallergenic

I give it a 5 out of 5 stars. I was impressed from the very first wash and have been a customer ever since. If you want a detergent that is truly harmless for your family, Seventh Generation is the way to go. And it works, which is what we all want in the end: fresh clean clothes for the whole family. It keeps clothes clean and our skin free of harmful chemicals. It’s a win-win for everyone! Click here order Seventh Generation detergent online or find out where to buy in-store here!seventh-generation-products-amazon-warehouse

Be sure to follow Seventh Generation on Instagram, on Facebook and on Twitter! And don’t forget to check out all of Seventh Generation’s family-friendly products here! I also only use their plant-based natural hand soaps, the fresh lemon & tea tree scent is to die for! Seventh Generation also makes Free & Clear diapers and baby wipes and I have to say, the diapers are very absorbent and the wipes are nice and thick, they’re great at cleaning up yucky messes!
