Tray Haven {Review}

trayhavenNow that my youngest is almost 9 months old, she’s hell bent on feeding herself. If a spoon or fork goes anywhere near her face, she swipes at whatever’s on it so she can shovel it in her mouth with her own two hands. Because of her new found independence, we just cut food into small bits and put it on her high chair tray so she can go to town on her own. Most of the food ends up on the floor rather than in her mouth though. She thinks it’s funny to throw it all on the floor (I think she wants to give our dog a snack) along with her sippy cup of water. After going through this with my oldest, I pink5-500x500decided to find something so don’t have to keep picking her cup and pieces of food up and constantly cleaning the floor. I stumbled upon Tray Haven and I’m so glad I did! I reached out and the company was kind enough to send me one to try out.

I received our Tray Haven just in time for Thanksgiving and it was a life saver! It’s made to work with most high chairs, booster seats, and wheelchairs with removable trays and seat backs. It’s designed to keep food and objects on the tray, and not on the floor. It’s made from durable mesh and strong straps so it can withstand a lot. It also collapses really easy and can be taken anywhere. We’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and I am so happy with how well it keeps everything where it should be! It’s super simple to attach it to a high chair (or even a stroller). Here’s a video that perfectly shows and explains how to use the Tray Haven:

Tray Haven has made mealtime with my baby so much easier, not to mention there is less to clean up! No more bending over to pick things up over and over and over (because it always turns into a game) and no more constant cleaning of the floor. I wish I would have had one when my oldest was a baby, she was always throwing her food and cups! I give Tray Haven a 5 out of 5 stars. It’s made of quality materials, it’s easy to use, and it works! At $34.99 and available in pink and blue, they make great gifts for birthdays, holidays, and baby showers. Parents and caregivers will be so grateful! Purchase yours here!

Re-Think Mealtime with Re-Play {Review + Giveaway}

img_9596I was recently looking for new silverware for my toddler, something that was fun, easy to handle, and I wanted to stay away from metal. I found a really cute set of plastic forks and spoons made by Re-Play and they are perfect for little hands. They were exactly what I was looking for and I was pleasantly surprised at the price, just over $2.50 for a pack of 8! If you know me or have read any of my blog posts, you know I’m a cheapskate. The price point is perfect for those on a budget (I’ve learned that all Re-Play products are easy on the wallet). They’re super durable and my daughter loved them soreplay1 I decided to reach out to Re-Play to collaborate on a blog review. They were kind enough to send a Complete Toddler Feeding Set (right) for my daughter to try. I soon started learned what an amazing company Re-Play is and I am so excited to share this company with our readers!

The moms at BurritoBuzz love products that are good for the planet, good for our families, and products that are made in the USA. This company hits all of those marks and more! Re-Play products are made from recycled milk jugs! How awesome is that? That means there are less milk jugs (we all know you go through gallons and gallons of milk when you have kids) ending up in landfills thanks to Re-Play, which is a family-owned and family-focused company. The brand looks to fulfill 5 Tenants of Responsibility: sustainability, safety, durability, functionality, and affordability. Re-Play is a brand you can feel really good about buying from. Their products are a better alternative for those looking to make the planet a better place for their children and future generations. Check out the Re-Play recycling process here:

I picked the white set for my daughter to try, but there are a ton of colors to choose from (they’re all dishwasher safe and they don’t fade)! Seriously, it probably took me a half an hour and asking my husband repeatedly what color I should pick (white was not one of his fullsizerenderchoices but I loved it and ultimately decided on it), it was not an easy choice. The Complete Toddler Feeding Set ($22) includes: 1 spoon and 1 fork, 1 divided plate, 1 spill proof cup, 1 drinking cup, 1 snack pod, and 1 bowl. I must say, Re-Play makes fantastic products! They’re so durable and the spill proof sippy is in fact spill proof. My daughter has used a popular brand of sippies with characters on them since ditching the bottle years ago, but they eventually leak and the spout gets cruddy as the plastic piece inside the mouthpiece, which is hard to clean. The Re-replay3Play spill proof cup is only 3 parts: the cup, lid, and valve. It is so easy to clean, as are all of the products! They come in packs of 2 for only $8.99! Products range in price from $4.99 for 8 utensils to $5.99 for 3 bowls, $7.99 for 3 divided plates to $5.99 for a snack stack of 2, check out all of their products and prices here! The snack pod is perfect for on the go and it has allowed me to stop using plastic sandwich bags (there I go, helping to save the planet again). The prices are very affordable and there are several color combinations to chose from, like rainbow, sorbet, and bold to name a few. Re-Play also has kitchen essentials for grown ups and teethers and toys for little ones. Be sure to check out the product section on their website to see all of their goodies!

I have fallen in love with Re-Play! I love that the company is helping the earth and future generations by recycling what would be waste. I give their products a 5 out of 5 stars. I will definitely be purchasing more of their products, especially their spill proof cups for my girls! Re-Play is available on Amazon, through the Re-Play website, and in store at WalMart, Whole Foods, Kroger, HEB, Target, and at various specialty shops and grocers around the country. Give Re-Play a try and I can promise that you will fall in love, not only with their amazing and durable products, but the wonderful company!

A Perfect Alternative to Plastic Tableware: Brinware

81-brinware-brand-2338-2338

When shopping for tableware for children, you’re bombarded with plastic everything. Plastic plates, plastic cups, plastic silverware. It’s all plastic. But you don’t know what’s in that plastic. Most of it is now BPA free, which I’m guessing makes it safer but you still can’t microwave it and I personally wouldn’t put hot food on a plastic plate in case it melts the plate or the plastic seeps into the food. We all know glass is safer. I wish I would haIMG_4496ve went the glass bottle route with my little ones, but the risk of breaking them and the cost really pushed me away. But glass tableware for little ones doesn’t really make a lot of sense, does it? Toddlers and glass do not mix. But Brinware changes that. I recently had the opportunity to review a few of their products and I am in love with them!

Brinware makes beautiful tempered glass plates ($19.99 for a set of 2, $11.99 for 1) that are super strong and durable. The plates come with a colorful food-grade silicone sleeve to protect the plate even more and prevent it from slipping. My toddler actually grabbed the plate (without the sleeve) and dropped it as I was washing dishes and it didn’t break! I was completely impressed. It’s a 7.5″ round plate that is dishwasher safe and microwavable, which is important to me. I get really frustrated when I can’t microwave my daughter’s food on her “pretty colored” plates as she calls them, so I have to transfer her food from a microwavable safe plate to her plastic plate (toddlers are picky). Brinware plates eliminate the need to do IMG_4494that since the plates can be microwaved. I also love the silicone sleeves, as they help protect my hands from hot plates, prevent slipping and keep the safe, not to mention all of the bright color choices! There fun designs on each plate and the sleeve really makes them pop!

I also received two food-grade silicone placemats ($16.99 for a set of 2) to try with the plates. We have a few different placemats, some are silicone, some are plastic, some are laminated mats that I found at the Dollar Store. None of them compare to these Brinware placemats. I know, I know. It’s just a placemat. But when it comes to messy kids (and my OCD), we use placemats at every meal and want them to make my life easier, not harder. These mats definitely do that! They’re 11” x 15” so they’re big enough for even the messiest of eaters. Each set comes with an alphabet mat and a number mat and come in the same colors as the plate sleeves (yay for matching!). My favorite thing aboIMG_4495ut these mats: they do not move! It’s like they suction to the table or something, they just stay put! I love that the mats roll up easily for storage and travel, are super easy to clean, and they don’t retain odors!

I give Brinware a 5 out of 5 stars. I am completely impressed with both the plates and placemats, I will definitely be getting more of both so we have enough to use when friends come over for playdates! I love that the plates are free of toxins and aren’t harmful. Brinware also has other great products, a catch all silicone bib ($14.99) available in four bold colors and a fun storage container ($14.99) Be sure to check their website out to see all of their awesome products! Many Brinware products are now available at Target! Get to shopping here!

Don’t forget to follow Brinware on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest for sales and new products!

We also have a discount code to use at checkout! Save 20% with BRINWARE20.

Product Review: Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Electric Bottle Warmer

image

Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Electric Bottle Warmer

I am a big Tommee Tippee fan. From the pacifiers to the bottles, I really appreciate the quality and attention to detail when it comes to what is best for baby.

I had nursed my LO from day one but pumped as often as I could production-wise so that DH could give her a bottle occasionally (about 2-3 times a week). When I began to wean, I was using frozen BM and decided I needed a bottle warmer to more consistently warm the thawed milk. I had been given another warmer (different brand) but the Tommee Tippee bottles I used were too wide and did not fit. I did some research and found that this brand is typically wider than most and really would only fit the Tommee Tippee brand warmer best. Here is my review on the warmer:

PROS: The most important thing for me when purchasing the warmer was that it fit my wider bottles. It didn’t have a million parts and was generally easy to operate. The warmer heated up quickly and warmed the bottle evenly. Most bottles were completely warmed in less than 4 minutes on the higher settings. Overall, it did what a bottle warmer needs to do in a short amount of time.

CONS: This warmer will run you anywhere from $30-$40 which is a little pricey in my opinion considering a couple of drawbacks. There is no auto shut off. I lived a life a paranoia after accidentally leaving it on one day and leaving the house. This is not typical (most warmers turn off after 10 minutes) and I found to be highly annoying.

The dial is basically worthless. The manual says that the 1 and 2 settings are meant to keep the bottle warm. False. At least in my child’s opinion, this was too cool even after about 6 minutes. Then you have the 3rd setting that should be relabeled “molten lava after 4.1 minutes.” If I did not grab that sucker out of there after 4 minutes EXACTLY, it was extremely hot. And lets face it, we’re moms, we’re busy. This happened several times and became ridiculous when I would have to let it set even longer to cool while my baby started to get hangry.

The extension cord is very short. Which doesn’t sound like a problem until you fill it with water and need to move it to plug it in and spill water everywhere, including the cord.

Overall, I was a little let down. Being a huge Tommee Tippee fan, I expected the usual high quality product. This did not meet my expectations and I soon gave up and warmed my bottles (gasp!) in the dangerous microwave and its evil hot spots that I rapidly shook out and shamed myself over until I realized my LO would gulp down anything that was slightly warmer than fridge temperature…
